Parent Management Committee (PMC)

Impstone Preschool operates as a charitable organisation and is run by a voluntary management committee, primarily parents and carers, who are the charity’s Trustees.

The Trustees are responsible for the effective running of the setting as a whole and deal with matters such as HR & recruitment, finance, marketing and business development. Trustee roles include a chairperson, treasurer, secretary and up to nine other members. Elections are held annually in September /October at the AGM and meet regularly throughout the school year.

The preschool is legally required to have a management committee and without it the setting could not operate, so we are heavily reliant on the goodwill and dedication of our volunteers. We also have committee members who do not take on the formal responsibilities of Trustees, but help out with fundraising and organising events. We have a regular calendar of events that we get involved with, including fund raising events like the Christmas and Easter fetes. We also have fun events just for the children such as Halloween and the summer leavers party, which the committee support the preschool team in arranging and running.

Becoming either a committee member or Trustee is a great way to meet new people, influence how your child’s preschool is managed and learn new skills. There are different ways to contribute and you can choose to give as much or as little time as you can spare. Best of all, you do not require any previous experience to make a difference.

If you are interested in joining the committee or would like some further information, please contact either Amanda at the setting or email impstonechair@gmail.com

New Members appeal - all parents of children that attend Impstone Preschool are automatically members of our Parent Management Committee.

However, we do need lots of support to help run all our fundraising activities and also to help us gather funds and support for our new build project!

If you are able to help in ANY way, no matter how much or little time you are able to offer, please speak to any of our Committee Management or the Preschool Manager.
